  •   Totally worth a visit. I had the tasting cup which had the 5 exotic flavours of the day - all delicious! You're allowed to walk around the orchard too and check out the trees/plants where the fruit has been harvested from.

All our products are handmade on site, using small artisan style batches.

Seasonal fruits of the orchard are picked at their peak and transformed into an exotic selection of tropical ice cream, sorbets and gelatos.

We work in harmony with our magnificent rainforest surrounds

All our fruit is organically grown, our trees are irrigated naturally by tropical rainfall and our ice cream is made on site using the finest local ingredients.

Nature has provided us with the sweetness we need in the fresh, exotic fruit from our Tropical Fruit Orchard. This means there’s no need for syrups, packet mixes or artificial sweeteners.

We reduce, reuse and recycle at every opportunity to minimise our impact on the surrounding World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest.

Enjoy your deliciously exotic fruit ice cream under the very tree where it was grown.

Then, take a free self-guided walking tour around our Tropical Fruit Orchard.

Delight your senses with our unique flavour combinations, derived from our organically grown fruit.

We hero the fruit as the centrepiece of each recipe and welcome our visitors to the weird and wonderful world of exotic tropical fruits.

We invite you to open your mind and your mouth to our fresh and unique fruit flavours.

The Daintree Ice Cream Company is dedicated to wildlife and habitat protection.

We work with key players in conservation like the Great Barrier Reef Legacy, Rainforest Rescue and the Wildlife Life Land Trust and have dedicated a private portion of our property to revegetation and wildlife rehabilitation projects.

What are your opening hours?2019-04-19T07:21:26+00:00

Our opening hours are from 11AM – 5PM.

We are open every day except Christmas Day. Visit us to get the full experience and enjoy your ice cream under the tree where it was grown.

What are your Sustainable Practices?2019-04-28T23:50:21+00:00

We’re committed to preserving Tropical North Queensland wildlife.

Our sustainable business practices and wildlife conservation efforts ensure we work in harmony with nature.

As we sit within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, our orchard receives an annual rainfall of around 4m per year. We have more than 15 species of rare and exotic fruit trees, that are all watered by mother nature. We also reduce, reuse and recycle at every opportunity.

Protecting our fragile ecosystems is essential to the survival of all wildlife, and private landholders with a concern for wildlife protection are in a unique position. In order to make a real contribution to conservation efforts, we have dedicated a portion of our property to the rehabilitation and release of native fauna. You may be lucky enough to see one of our wallabies hopping around the orchard next time you stop in!

Working in harmony with our natural environment is the key to keeping our business sustainable, ethical and accountable.

What makes your ice cream different?2019-04-28T23:55:32+00:00

Our ice cream is truly special.

Fruit is organically grown in our very own orchard, trees are irrigated naturally by tropical rainfall & gelato is made on site using the finest local ingredients.

All ice cream, sorbets and gelatos are handmade on site, with love and care in small batches. Seasonal fruits of the orchard are picked at their peak so we can continue to deliver the exceptional quality that locals and tourists alike have enjoyed since 1993.

We make the FRUIT the centrepiece of each recipe, instead of simply using it as a flavouring, and offer a Signature Cup with 4 scoops.

Can we pay with EFTPOS/Credit Card?2019-04-28T23:55:10+00:00

In the heart of the Daintree Rainforest, reception is limited.

Our business is situated in an area that has limited services and communications. Consequently, EFTPOS and Credit Card facilities are unable to be provided at this time.

We have an ATM onsite but we recommend that you do bring cash just in case it fails to launch (which unfortunately happens
sometimes due to our remote location).

Do you have Gluten Free & Vegan options?2019-04-30T04:23:33+00:00

Yes! All our products are gluten-free and our sorbets are 100% vegan.

We also sell authentic Italian gelato sticks – flavours include soursop, mango/passionfruit and chocolate (for those die-hard chocoholics among us).

See, smell and learn about the exotic fruits in our ice cream with our free self-guided Tropical Fruit Orchard Tour.

Our exotic fruits flavours include:

  • Davidson Plum
  • Soursop (Guanabana)
  • Jackfruit
  • Black Sapote
  • Yellow Sapote
  • Passionfruit
  • Mango
  • Mamey Sapote

What is your Signature Cup?2019-04-29T00:01:25+00:00

We do things a little differently up here!

Ice cream is served in our signature cup which features 4 unique tropical flavours. These change daily depending on what’s in season and complimentary flavours. Serving ice cream in this way affords you the best value for money (4 scoops is $7.50) as well as encouraging you to try something new.

We find that everyone has their own favourite, and the novelty of trying so many unique flavours creates a fun and memorable tasting experience.

How do I find you?2019-04-19T07:15:53+00:00
