This week has been an award-winning week!
We have been nominated, then recognised as one of the Best Ice Cream Parlours in Australia.
Not one, but two travel review websites have recently reach out to us to let us know, and it’s all thank you.
Port Douglas Business Awards; every vote counts
We are also excited to announce that we are currently in the running for another award. We have been nominated to win the ‘Best Tourist Attraction (Commercial Venue)’ award in the Port Douglas Business Awards!
You can cast your vote for businesses in as many categories as you like, but every vote counts.
This is your chance to show the judges you care about the planet. By voting for sustainable businesses in Port Douglas, you can share the belief that while commercial success is important, so is the environment.
Living between the rainforest and the reef means we have a responsibility to help the planet, and it is important we support other sustainable businesses in Port Douglas.
We cannot thank you enough for your support.
No day in Daintree is complete without stopping at an orchard in the middle of the rainforest for some ice cream made with fruits you’ve never even heard of 🍨
To our customers, suppliers, partners and friends, thank you! We appreciate you continuously sharing your love for our exotic ice cream with your friends and family, and making our ice cream award-winning.
Without having to ask, you have shared your experiences with others. This has led to our ice cream being featured as one of 100 faces of small business by Queensland Government.
To show our appreciation, we thought we would celebrate the only way we know how… with ice cream!
Behind the scenes at the award-winning Daintree Ice Cream Company
Here’s a behind the scenes glimpse into the making of our delicious banana ice cream, all the way from the orchard to your ice cream cup (which is reused as mulch for the fruit trees).
- Mash the deliciously sweet sugar bananas grown right here on our orchard
- Pasteurise milk and sugar for 15 minutes
- Blend the milk and sugar with the mashed bananas
- Add to the batch freezer and churn for 20 minutes
- Voila! Home grown exotic banana fruit ice cream!
Thanks again to everyone who has visited us in the heart of the Daintree.
There is no better feeling than seeing you open your mind and your mouth to the weird and wonderful world of exotic fruit ice cream.
