One of the things that makes the Daintree Ice Cream Company such an memorable place is its spectacular scenery. Encircled by rainforest-clad mountains this 22 acre area showcases lush tropical gardens and unique sweeping vistas (a rarity in rainforest ecosystems normally covered by canopy).

In keeping in harmony with our surrounds the orchard is organically farmed and we do our best to work with these natural systems. Being situated in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area the Daintree receives an annual rainfall of around 4m per year. This means there is no need to irrigate and all trees are watered by mother nature.

The Daintree Ice Cream Co orchard contains >15 species of rare and exotic fruit trees as well as dedicated revegetation/wildlife areas (see Conservation).

Species grown include:

  • Black Sapote
